Fall Instructional League ...
Coming 2012
Bexar County Volleyball Academy will be offering a Fall Instructional League for girls in 5th and 6th grade. They will play more competitive volleyball than usually afforded by community leagues.
Most schools do not allow girls to play volleyball on the school team until thay reach 7th grade. We think this is too late to get the athletes engaged in competitive volleyball. The Fall League will also provide a preview for what club volleyball is like if they choose to play.
In the Fall League the 5th and 6th grade players will meet one time per week and will spend time on individual skill development and team play. We are making this as "middle school like" as possible. This will give the players the advantage of playing a season or two of volleyball before they get to the middle school team.
Concentration
Our league will focus on the basic skills of individual and team play, players roles and court responsibilities. THe players will learn and be drilled in the fundamental skills that are necessary to become a good volleyball player.
Structure
Our league is built around the skill development that will occur before league play in the evenings. Skill development and competition will be organized and run by coaches with experience at the collegiate, high school and club level.
Joining the Fall Instructional League will help players become more fundamentally sound while learning to have in an organized, dynamic learning environment!
